First five15 e-single released: 'In the blue' by Anna Disley-Simpson

The London Oriana Choir is delighted to announce the release of the first recording of a commission from its five15 programme to promote the work of women composers. The recording is available on Spotify and all other major streaming channels.

'In the blue' draws on a poem by US educator and women's rights advocate Alice Freeman Palmer (d.1902); and was commissioned from Anna Disley-Simpson during her composer residency with the Choir in 2019-21. Her residency was part of a five year initiative by the Choir to promote the work of women composers through new commissions from five composers. The Choir has released this e-single to promote the finale concert of the five15 initiative at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London on July 9th.
