World Premiere of 'Picture Frame' by Anna Disley-Simpson
The London Oriana Choir was delighted to give the well-received world premiere of their second commission from Anna Disley-Simpson, their fourth five15 composer in residence, at their 'Beethoven 250' concert on Friday 13th March with the Meridian Sinfonia. The piece is called 'Picture Frame', for choir and orchestra, and is a setting of a poem by Alexia Sloane. Anna writes "Set on the backdrop of a lonely cityscape Picture Frame explores the bittersweetness of memory that we each see through our own individual lens. Utilising the vivid imagery illustrated in the poetry of Alexia Sloane, the music aims to suggest the shared human experience of warped nostalgia and heartbreak."
